Counterpoint partners with Alexandria Park Schools as Community Centres (SaCC), and Save the Children Play2Learn Program, to support the operation of three local supported playgroups in Alexandria and Waterloo. Each playgroups runs during the school terms.

The Dobell Playgroup operates in a community room on Tuesday afternoons and supports local families living in public housing in Redfern or Waterloo.

his supported playgroup provides a space for residents to connect with local families, health services, and provides basic food and donated foods from OzHarvest.

The Alex Park School Readiness Program operates on Wednesdays during Terms 3 and 4 of the school year. The playgroup is for local families with children aged 3-5 years who will be enrolling in Kindergarten at Alexandria Park Community School.

The Community Playgroup held each Thursday during school terms is an open playgroup for families living in the local inner city area. The playgroup encourages the participation of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) families in order to support those families with any emerging needs.

We are also an active member in the Inner City Child and Family Interagency group, which aims to bring all child and family services in the area together with the aim of providing evidence based and community driven initiatives to the families in our community. The Interagency group is currently led by Julie Katz from SDN Children’s Services
