This special initiative celebrates the unique and cherished bond between people and their pets, showcasing stories and portraits from Waterloo’s vibrant community.

About the Project

Paws, Claws, and Heartbeats began as a community-driven effort through the Waterloo Peer Educators program, with generous support from the City of Sydney and Homes NSW. It was officially launched at the City of Sydney’s Pet Day 2024, where residents from Surry Hills, Redfern, Glebe, and Waterloo shared their love for their animal companions through stunning photographs and heartfelt stories.

This booklet is a continuation of that celebration, featuring touching narratives and beautiful portraits that highlight the joy, comfort, and unconditional love pets bring into our lives. From playful antics to moments of quiet companionship, these stories remind us of the profound connections we share with our furry, feathered, and scaly friends.
